Alyce White Edwards, 88, of Lexington, SC, formerly of Roanoke Rapids, died Thursday, February 7, 2013.

Mrs. Edwards, a native of Scotland Neck, was the daughter of the late James Eugene and Margaret Barnhill White. She was the widow of the late Louis Walter ''Bug'' Edwards, Jr. She was also preceded in death by her sister Angie Lawrence.

Mrs. Edwards was a member of Weldon United Methodist Church for over 60 years, and was retired as an RN nurse with 37 years of service with the Halifax County Health Department.

She is survived by her daughter, Lou Alyce Sizemore of Woodland; her two sons, Louis ''Pete'' Eugene Edwards and his wife Sally of Lexington, SC, and Michael Wayne Edwards and his wife Ann of Morganton; two sisters, Jane Faye Askew and her husband Foster, and Merel Whitehead; her brother, James Eugene White and his wife Marie; five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Weldon United Methodist Church with Rev. Sue Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids.
